Justine R. Guliana Laranja is an Associate Attorney at Dawda PLC. Her practice focuses on real estate, estate planning, and litigation. As a first-generation Chaldean American, Justine brings a unique cultural perspective to serving clients and navigating cross-cultural legal challenges.

Justine graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2025. During her time at MSU Law, she distinguished herself academically, earning Jurisprudence Awards (highest grade) in Professional Responsibility and Immigration Law Clinic I, as well as receiving a rare A+ in Construction Law—a mark of exceptional achievement. Her academic excellence demonstrates both her mastery of complex legal doctrine and her practical application skills.

While in law school, Justine gained significant advocacy experience through her participation in the ABA Arbitration Competition, where she led her team to the National Championship as Finalists both years she competed. Kristen L. Baiardi is a Senior Attorney at Dawda PLC. She primarily concentrates her practice on legal and regulatory issues affecting automobile dealers, while also representing clients in litigation, corporate, labor, and employment matters. Kristen also serves as outside counsel for several municipalities and governmental entities throughout the state of Michigan.

Kristen received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2008 and her B.A. from Boston College in 2005, majoring in English. While in law school, she served as a research assistant for corporate law professor Steven Davidoff Solomon.

John Mucha III

John Mucha III is a Member of Dawda PLC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, automotive supply chain matters, real estate matters, land use planning, and business disputes, including commercial, construction, real property, tort, and business confidential information matters.

John has considerable experience representing businesses and property owners in a broad range of matters, including general business litigation, including breach of contract disputes, automotive supply chain matters and contract negotiation, and claims involving the sale and leasing of real property. He has also litigated and successfully resolved land contamination matters as well as cases involving personal injury, property damage, and other torts. John has assisted both employers and executives with confidentiality and noncompete issues, including the drafting of various types of employment-related agreements. His litigation expertise encompasses all phases of the litigation process, from initial pleading and discovery stages to trials, appeals, and the negotiation of settlements. John also serves as a Discovery Mediator for the Oakland County (Michigan) Circuit Court.

With respect to land use, zoning, and planning matters, John has successfully guided owners, developers, and retailers through the applicable governmental approval processes. He has also successfully litigated land use disputes in both administrative hearings and in court.

John has also successfully argued cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and he is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Michigan. He has served as the Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Litigation Section, the President of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC), and as an elected representative to the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly.

John earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1987, where he also received a special award for writing and advocacy, and where he served as Contributing Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. He also earned a Master of Public Policy degree in 1979 and a B.A., with distinction, in 1977, from the University of Michigan. Randal R. Cole is a Member with Dawda PLC. Prior to receiving his law degree, Randal worked for a management consulting firm which led him into employment and labor law where he has significant experience defending employers against employment claims. His litigation includes a broad spectrum of areas including: The handling of complex cases related to land and title issues for national title companies; providing advice to Tier II and Tier III automotive clients with supplier issues, as well as initiating and defending litigation in both Michigan and other states relating to supplier and production issues; drafting and providing advice on estate plans; successfully resolving complex probate matters on behalf of both private clients and national charitable organizations; handling commercial landlord tenant disputes; filing and litigating classification of proofs of claim in bankruptcy court; initiating and defending adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court; and representing financial institutions on forbearance and collection matters.

Randal has extensive experience in both state and federal courts and has handled appellate cases in both the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His experience in administrative forums includes representing clients before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and Michigan Employment Security Agency.

He has also arbitrated private claims, both with the American Arbitration Association (JAMS) and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.

Randal regularly counsels clients in union and non-union facilities, on issues such as disciplinary and termination procedures; preparing employee handbooks, individual employment agreements, work rules, policies, and separation agreements; and on implementation of reduction-in-force programs. He is also experienced in collective bargaining with a number of different unions and has participated in the prevention of several organizing campaigns.

Randal earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1996, and his B.A. from Kalamazoo College, in 1991, where he was a Chamberlain Fellow. He received a Germany University Fellowship for graduate work in the Federal Republic of Germany. He is admitted to practice in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Labor and Employment Law Section, and was Vice-Chairman of the Oakland County Bar Association Employment and Labor Law Committee (2001-2002). Susan J. Sadler

Susan J. Sadler is a founding Member of Dawda PLC. She is the head of the Environmental, Energy, and Sustainability practice group. She concentrates her legal practice on a broad spectrum of environmental issues.

Since the early 1980s, she has provided counsel on compliance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Wetland Regulations, Endangered Species Act, and state environmental statutes and permitting requirements.

An experienced counselor, Susan frequently defends corporations in administrative proceedings and environmental litigation brought by citizens groups, Attorneys General Offices, and the Federal Justice Department. Her legal expertise includes representing corporations in toxic tort litigation brought by individuals claiming damage and physical injury from exposure to chemicals, and representing individuals, corporations, municipalities, and business entities in all aspects of environmental regulations. She also has experience in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers regarding pollution claims.

Susan is LEED-AP accredited and is one of the few attorneys with this distinction.

Susan is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Litigation and Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental law sections, and past Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Solid and Hazardous Waste Committee. She is a Board Member of the Great Lakes Center for Legal Studies.

A frequent author, Susan has made significant contributions to the Detroit College of Law Review, the first and second edition of The RCRA Practice Manual (published by the American Bar Association), and Environmental Law for Contractors. She also is a lecturer for the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan, and has been a faculty member of the Law Institute Program of the Defense Research Institute.

Tyler D. Tennent is a Member of and General Counsel to Dawda PLC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of land use, real estate development, environmental, corporate, and related litigation.

Tyler is land use and environmental counsel to several international, national, and local real estate development companies. His practice involves land use entitlement approvals and environmental development strategies for developers. He also regularly advises clients regarding zoning approvals, land use permitting options, natural resource approvals, liability protections, defending environmental enforcement actions matters, and complex land use entitlement issues such as multi use developments, planned developments, and solar projects. He frequently assists clients with the development and operation of brownfield properties, the attainment of local, state, and national use permits, the securing of tax and financial incentives, the minimization of environmental risks associated with managing hazardous wastes, sustainable practices (LEED trained) and, with the drafting of contracts and corporate policies to avoid liability exposure. He handles cases that involve the transactional effects of environmental liability and advises corporations on the implementation of environmental audit and compliance programs. Tyler has significant litigation expertise representing parties in commercial, land use, and environmental litigation, including local, state, and federal administrative appellate actions and regulatory proceedings.

Additionally, he is counsel to governmental authorities for economic development, brownfield, complex land development matters. Some of the public corporations he has represented include land banks, brownfield authorities, and other economic development entities.

Tyler earned his J.D. in 1984 from Michigan State University College of Law and his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1981.

Frances Belzer Wilson is a Member with Dawda PLC. She concentrates her practice in civil and probate litigation, focusing in the areas of banking, creditor’s rights, and commercial and real estate litigation. Her litigation experience includes a broad spectrum of areas including real estate issues, business disputes, commercial landlord tenant matters, representing clients in bankruptcy matters including adversary proceedings, and representing clients in collection matters. Frances also has experience in estate planning, guardianship/conservatorship matters, and estate and trust administration.

Frances routinely advises clients on a variety of issues including banking, creditor rights, probate issues, bankruptcy, and insolvency-related matters as well as non-bankruptcy matters involving commercial litigation, collections, and appellate work. She also has extensive experience in representing clients in all stages of commercial real estate workouts and foreclosures, including judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, receiverships, note sales, loan modification and forbearance.

Frances earned her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2005 and earned her B.A. in 2002 from Albion College, majoring in Political Science, with a concentration in Public Policy and Service. While in law school, she held an internship with the 6th Circuit Court of Michigan.

She is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, State Bar of Arizona, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and Western District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.
